Welcome to our website!
We set it up to introduce our new musical to as many regional, academic and community theater companies as possible. Our goal is simple – we want you to produce our show.
To get you started, here are the Top Ten Reasons Why RESOLUTIONS could be the right show for you.
RESOLUTIONS…
10. Is New: This is an entirely original script, with entirely new, original (and we think, beautiful) music. It’s a new page in your theater experience, and you get to experience the high that comes from working with new material.
9. Is Traditional: At the same time, RESOLUTIONS is cast into an iconic holiday mold. A sequel to Charles Dickens’ "A CHRISTMAS CAROL", the show includes characters audiences already know and love, as well as many new characters.
8. Is Marketable: Because it’s a holiday show, because it’s a musical, and most of all, because it’s a sequel to "A CHRISTMAS CAROL", this show can be marketed successfully even though it’s new to your audience. Did you produce the Dickens classic last year? Does another theater in your area produce it every year? Offer it to your audience as a brand new Victorian Christmas present!
7. Is Family-Friendly: The show has a story and characters that appeal to all age groups and a theme that can resonate for all – if you’re determined, you can become a better person, and your true friends will support you as you do it. The strongest language in the show is – you guessed it – “humbug!” There’s some hand-holding and some cheek-kissing, but nothing more – this is 1844, after all!
6. Is Large-Cast: The ideal cast for this show would be about 30 people, including 9 children. If your show has a large cast, all of their family members will come to see them in it. If your cast includes lots of children, their families will come three or four times to see them in it.
5. Has Flexible Choreography Requirements: There’s plenty of opportunity (and sometimes an absolute need) for choreographed movement in this show, but it’s not strictly necessary that it be a “dance”. Of course, there can be dances, but if your company has a "dancer deficit” it won’t be a problem here.
4. Is Orchestrated for a Small Band: RESOLUTIONS is arranged and scored for 4-6 musicians. Piano, bass, reed and brass, with a second, electronic keyboard for other instruments. The small size means that, even if you don’t have an orchestra pit, you can accommodate this band backstage (or onstage).
3. Has Opportunities for your Designers: Set, costumes, props, lights, sound – everyone gets to exercise their creative muscles here. Pick your approach – realistic, representational, abstract, whichever – and, GO! If yours is a company with an active youth program, consider pairing apprentice designers with experienced mentors – the creativity may just double on you!
2. Has Opportunities for your Actors: There are substantial roles for young adult and for mature actors. There are children in the cast who are major players in the story line. There is youthful romance, treacherous villainy, acts of courage by all ages and (because this is, after all, about Scrooge) a visit from the spirit world. Plus, in both an adult and a children’s ensemble everyone has a moment to shine.
1. Is A Real Bargain Right Now: RESOLUTIONS is not published yet. The catch-22 of the business of playwriting is that publishers won’t consider publishing a show in their catalogue until it has a track record of successful productions. Getting productions requires, of course, that theaters know that the show exists. You see our problem here, but our problem is your opportunity. Until a publisher decides to pick up our show, we control the rights, and we will license the rights to produce our show for a minimal royalty (based on your ticket prices and seating capacity). That royalty will include the right to download and copy scripts and scores for your use. This could result in an upfront cost that is significantly lower than you’re accustomed to paying for your holiday musical.
Did you get this far? Are you still interested? Great!! Check out the rest of the website. Read the synopsis and the script sample. Listen to the music. Imagine your production. Then get in touch with us and we'll send you a perusal script. We believe you'll love our show as much as we do, and that we can make some wonderful theater together!
Thanks for visiting.

The Story
Ebenezer Scrooge had a traumatic experience last Christmas Eve, and as the new year begins, he faces the dilemma we all face: When the holiday euphoria subsides, can he keep those resolutions he made on Christmas morning (and will it make any difference if he does)?
Travel through the next year with Ebenezer as he tries to change his whole way of life, hoping to change the bleak futures foretold for him and Tiny Tim Cratchit. While many hope he will succeed, there are those who doubt, and those who actively work against him. Root for him as he overcomes temptation and hiss the villain who plots to destroy Scrooge's reputation and his business!
New faces and beloved characters from Dickens’ classic Christmas story accompany Ebenezer on his journey through a year of highs and lows, successes and near-failures, villainy and romance. As we arrive at the next Christmas Eve, we know that Scrooge, with the help of his new friends, will indeed succeed in keeping Christmas forever in his heart.
